Christmas HOPE - Day 14
Romans 15:20-”My ambition has always been to preach the Good News where the name of Christ has never been heard, rather than where a church has already been started by someone else.”
In case you didn't know this, I'm a church planter. My wife and I launched Legacy Church in January 2018. One of my friends wrote a book about church planting and he and I were talking about something he wrote. He wrote, "So if you're thinking about planting a church, RUN! What?! Are you out of your mind?" We laughed because it does take some crazy to start a church. But what gives me hope this Christmas (and hopefully you as well) is the verse of the day.
If we were all cats that had nine lives one of the lives I would be interested in trying is to fly everywhere on this earth and meet all the different types of people. Different colors, sizes, nations, tribes - they all fascinate me. I think it would be a blast to spend a month in all the different regions of this earth and after building some friendships I could tell them about the GOOD NEWS of Jesus and what He did for me. But the truth is we're not cats and don't have nine lives. Just one. One chance, one opportunity (for you Eminem fans) to help be the champion God made you to be to share the best news ever wherever you can.
We chose northern Minnesota to do that. Why? Because we're a little bit crazy and there are too many people who need GOOD NEWS here. There are churches here, but not enough in comparison to the brokenness in this region of the world. So the work began and continues and it's the best work ever. We love it. We want you to have so much hope this Christmas because of Jesus. We want you to be living in the GOOD NEWS. We're going to get even more crazy and do whatever we can to reach as many people as we can before this one life ends. If you need hope this Christmas and you haven't been to church in a while, maybe check it out. Of course we'd love you at Legacy. But to know there's a options for you and you chose to go because of availability, starting this church was totally worth it.
