Christmas HOPE - Day 17

Psalm 20:5-6-"When you win, we plan to raise the roof and lead the parade with our banners. May all your wishes come true! That clinches it—help’s coming, an answer’s on the way, everything’s going to work out."

When I read this today I sat back for a minute, processed and thought 'what a great scripture of hope'. Seriously, what the Psalmist is saying is that when Jesus comes all the yuck, sickness, confusion, chaos all will be rectified. Now, in context these verses were written before Jesus came and before he went to the cross to pay the debt we owed God for our sin. But we can apply these passages today because we know the rest of the story says Jesus is coming again and the next time is the last time. Next time it's game over, he wins. Evil, Satan, sin, is destroyed and those who believe in Jesus will be with him forever. In fact, in one piece of scripture it says that we'll ride with him crushing the enemy under our feet like stepping on grapes. Let these verses give you some encouragement today. He's coming. We don't know when but it's a promise. And everything that can seem hopeless or defeating all gets crushed forever and ever. Everything is going to work out :)
